#HISANDHERPLAYLIST 3
We love a good cookbook.
The fresh takes on familiar/unfamiliar foods, the graphic layouts, beautiful photography... We love it all. ONE PROBLEM: we own several and NEVER use them! However, we received the wonderful cocktail recipe book Shake as a gift and just had to test out some of the concoctions (you know, for science).
This book is great, not only for the aforementioned reasons, but because it organizes the recipes based on season. So we scoured the Spring and Summer chapters in search of the perfect cocktails, and ended up with the two cocktails below. Both were super refreshing and the perfect way to dip our toes into an afternoon of day-drinking.
(HIS) COCKTAIL: THE BLACKBERRY FENCE HOPPER
THE PARTICULARS:
- 2 shots vodka
- 1 shot fresh lemon juice (though I recommend two)
- 1 shot wildflower honey
- 8 fresh blackberries (plus a couple for garnish)
- 2 slices of lemon
- Seltzer
(HER) COCKTAIL: THE CUCUMBER RICKEY
THE PARTICULARS:
- 4 shots gin
- 1 handful of fresh mint leaves (plus a few for garnish)
- 6 slices of cucumber (plus 2 for garnish)
- 1 shot fresh lime juice
- ginger beer
Musically, we were feeling this playlist full of swanky lounge songs we typically play when we're entertaining guests at the loft or simply making food or drinks worthy of a cool soundtrack.
