LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER

As I have may have mentioned before, my mother thoroughly enjoyed getting ready each and every day of her life.

You could ask anyone in my family, and they would gladly let you know that my mother was infatuated with having hats (among a number of things, hehe). With her hats, she would save them to wear for special occasions. It could have been Easter, a special service for church, or even a night on the town with my dad.

My mom loved each hat dearly and made sure that they were well taken care of and stored properly in their hat boxes. Even though today may have felt like any other day, I felt my mother's spirit. And what better way to feel her closeness than by accessorizing with a hat of my own!

This hat too has a story of its own...While Eddie and I were visiting Las Vegas last year, I lusted over this hat, and my adoring husband then surprised me by sneaking away to secretly purchase it for me! Who would have thought how meaningful this gift turned out to be? Receiving a hat, which my mom loved, in a city she loved?

Today, Mom, I tip my hat to you!
