SUITSUPPLY - CUSTOM MADE
As you well know, Suitsupply is one of my absolute favorite brands. So When I was asked to check out their Custom Made program, I couldn’t have been more excited! I own over a dozen blazers/suits from the brand, but this was my first time to experience Suitsupply’s custom services.
THE PROCESS
One of the things I’ve always said separates Suitsupply from most menswear brands is the quality of their staff. Everyone in the store is incredibly knowledgeable and capable when it comes to how your garments should fit. That said, I had the great fortune of working with none other than Suitsupply VP Nish Gultier for my fitting/selections. It was great getting to know Nish— we chatted briefly about what I wanted to get out of the suit, and built it from there.
Suitsupply offers over 90 Italian fabrics as part of the Custom Made program, but to be honest, it didn’t take long to land on the perfect look for me. Given that I simply don’t wear suits as frequently as I used to, I knew I wanted a look that was less standard and more standout— it was time for something classic and tasteful, but a little BOLD!
This wasn’t the fabric I ended up with, but it was the same silhouette… And Nish measured it to perfection.
The whole process was incredibly quick and all I had left to do was wait. Luckily enough, suits generally only takes 2-3 weeks for delivery
THE SUIT…
Here it is! I went with a blue houndstooth, wool/cashmere blend suit just in time for fall/winter here in Dallas. What I love about this fabric is that it’s just classic enough to wear at the office, but just bold to rock at a wedding or social event without looking too stuffy.
THE SUIT (“part 2”)
To touch on the versatility of this suit, I wanted to share a look that felt more appropriate for a birthday celebration or your office holiday party. I’m not really a three-piece suit kind of guy, but I elected to add a waistcoat to my suit for some additional flair.
