NATIONAL ARCHIVE

I say it all the time. One of the biggest compliments I can give any creative piece of work is to exclaim “Dang— I wish I would’ve thought of that!”. Well, that couldn’t be more true for this special project, National Archive

The brand was created by my dear friend, Rick Torres, who— for as long as I’ve known him, has always had incredible taste and been one (or two) steps ahead of us mortals in all things style-related. So when he told me he wanted to include me in this project that blends together architecture, (vintage/up-cycled) fashion, and sports... it was an absolute YES for me. What I love most about the brand is the way these pieces so effortlessly become didactic without being pedantic. I can wear this Lina Bo Bardi sweatshirt to Trader Joe’s and I may get an approving smirk from a fellow architecture professional. Or, I could spark curiosity and conversation from someone who just digs the style and may not know Lina’s work.

The line currently includes vintage gym-class-inspired pieces that pay homage to the likes of Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe, and more. Personally, they make me recall 90’s New York style, mixed with the training montages in every ROCKY movie... Not a bad place to be, if you ask me.

Though the brand was conceived in NYC, the garments are printed here in Dallas at Lewellyn’s Print Shop in Deep Ellum.
