MEXICO CITY PT. 2

Better late than never, right??

As you know, we had the pleasure of traveling to Mexico City a few months ago to visit our dear friends Marcus and R’El of This Is The Place I Was Telling You About. Since we’d all been to CDMX before, we decided to move around more spontaneously with the exception of a few restaurant reservations. This made for such a lovely trip, filled with more aimless wandering and less tackling of our typical ‘Must Visit’ lists.

That said, we did end up visiting some great spots (many of which happened to be on our list— go figure), so we thought we’d share some of the highlights.

WHERE WE ATE:

CONTRAMAR

Contramar has been on our list for years now, and it did not disappoint. You really can’t miss here, but sit outside, order the tuna tostadas, and you’re good to go.

RESTAURANTE ROSETTA

So not to be confused with Panaderia Rosetta down the street, we visited Restaurante Rosetta on the recommendation and reservation from Marcus and R’El. We tried a little bit of (almost) everything, and we must say: the appetizers stole the show!

GALANGA

It seems a little crazy to check in to a Thai restaurant while visiting Mexico, but Galanga was right down the street from our Airbnb, so we popped in and it was just as delicious as it was beautiful. Trust us.

CHURRERIA EL MORO

We missed out on this go-to spot our last trip, so we made up for it this time around (and then some). We were able to hit two of the locations in the city, each distinctly different, each delicious.

CONDESA DF

Though we’ve been here before, we just had to come back to this popular hotel rooftop for the views and the vibe. The drinks and snacks are pretty average, but the atmosphere and people-watching alone more than make up for it.

TACOS

Just like our last trip here, we pretty much kept our taco consumption to street tacos we’d randomly come across. We know there are probably tons of great tacos to be had at restaurants throughout the city, but it’s pretty nice to switch up the vibe without really sacrificing quality.

COFFEE:

It’s almost too easy to find great coffee shops in CDMX. We’ve been to our fair share by now (some multiple times), so we hope this helps frame a foundation for your list.
